He was the son of Dr. Vivian Wellmaker (also known as Mama Niecey), and the brother of Dr. Ellsworth Wellmaker, International Trustee Board Member, and Dr. Kathy Wellmaker, all members of the Los Angeles Branch. Dr. Julie Watkins, a long-standing member of IDMR and the Springfield, Ohio Branch passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 6, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Dr. Watkins was the beloved mother of two sons, Dr. Christopher Woods, Dean of IDMR Prince George’s County, Maryland and State Dean of Maryland and Mr. Jayson Woods. Dr. Watkins is also survived by two brothers Dr. Joe Watkins and Mr. Jay Watkins; two sisters, Mrs. Jackie Johnson and Mrs. Jennifer Holbrook, and her beloved granddaughter Frances. Dr. Watkins was the granddaughter of Dr. Nathaniel Patton, first Dean of the Dayton, OH Branch who preceded her in death. In accordance with Dr. Watkins wishes, there will be no memorial services.
